For this week's Tech Tip Tuesday, I am sharing a couple of my favorite extensions for managing tabs in Chrome.
Two Favorites
This extension is great for quickly saving all open tabs. You can rename the list of tabs for easy reference. For example, "Monday's Leftovers" which is all the tabs I didn't close out at the end of yesterday. You can also save the tabs you use every day to a list to open all at once. For example, "Daily" opens Gmail, Calendar, Synergy, and Schoology.
This extension is also great for all the same reasons except this extension closes all your tabs when you open OneTab, which isn't always what I would like. BUT I still like this extension because you can share your tabs as a web page. For example, if you wanted your students to use a specific list of curated tabs, you can save them to OneTab and share the list. Or if you had a great list of resources, you can save them to OneTab and share your colleagues.
Back up, what's an extension?
According to the Chrome page, "Extensions are small software programs that can modify and enhance the functionality of the Chrome browser."
To install extensions: While in Chrome, go to the Chrome Web Store, find an extension, and click on the "+ Add to Chrome button." Just like everything on the Internet today, please use caution when installing extensions.
